Brew Valve Leak Inspection

Brew Valve Leak Inspection

Turn off the water
Unplug the machine
Remove the cup tray
Remove the top front cover
Open the brew valve drain

Loosen remove the tube attached from the gauge to the brew tank, this will break the vacuum in the tank and allow it to drain.

The brew valve is located on the neck of the tank. Remove the discharge tube. Install a blind portafilter and actuate to full brew. Does water leak out of the valve?

Remove the nut holding the solenoid body (black box) to the valve body
There are two #3 allen bolts. Remove those and pull the valve off
Inside the valve is a center plate. If you depress that and rotate counter clockwise it should pop out. Be careful as there is an internal spring. The valve seats along that center plate with the gasket on the center plunger. See Video below
See if there is any debris. You can also pull the small black gasket out of the plunger and flip it over. Sometimes you can get a second life out of it if its compromised.
