Checking Operations of Pre-Heat Boiler V3
Tools needed: Multi Meter, Screwdriver
Time Needed: 30 minutes
Check your love controller, press set once and it'll illuminate a red dot under out1. Is the setting correct? Please verify all settings for the preheat. Typically set to 185f or equivalent
Remove cup tray
Remove side panel
Remove covering of element leads
With you meter set to read AC voltage remove the long wire from the limit thermostat and check voltage at the element. One lead on the element and one lead to ground
Check voltage with one lead to the long wire (typically brown) and one lead to ground
You will only receive voltage on the long wire if the love controller is calling for heat. That is indicated by a red dot under OUT1
Disconnect wires from limit thermostat and check continuity
Continuity is checked with the meter set to the symbol that looks like "wifi"
Depending on the meter, you'll hear a tone or get a reading on the front of the meter if continuity is present
Check resistance of your element. Switch your meter to read resistance symbolized by the omega symbol Ω One lead of multi meter on each element leads.
