Checking Voltage at Element
Time Needed: 30 minutes
Tools Needed: #2 philips screwdriver, voltage meter
Turn off machine High Voltage switch and main power.
Disconnect both wires from the high limit. Measure continuity through the high limit. If it good you should hear a tone dependent on your voltage meter.
Reconnect the wires to the high limit. Measure Ohms on element (typically same setting as continuity): You should have around 81 ohms cold.
Turn on the machine main switch and high voltage switch. Measure on the female side connector. You should have 220v between the two wires.
Turn off the machine, connect the high voltage connector together. Identify the wires on the high limit. Follow the high limit to the element. Disconnect that wire. Turn the machine back on. Measure voltage on the high limit opposite side of the high limit. The other probe contacting a ground. You should have 120v.
