Compression Fitting Guide - Universal

Compression Fitting Guide - Universal

Slayer V3, Single Group, and Steam Series
Field guide for installing compress-align compression fittings to copper lines.

Slayer recommends that all service be performed by an experienced Slayer Espresso trained technician.

Compress-Align

Step 1: Thread compression fitting onto male inlet fitting. Tighten just a touch less than finger tight.
It is best to use a fitting that is not suspended by an additional copper line for seating compression fittings. Such as Steam Valve Solenoids, Flowmeters, and Needle Valves. Examples of appropriate male fittings would include: Steam Tank, DVG Valve, and Brew Tank. In this guide, the demonstrated fitting is a DVG valve.

Step 2: Insert copper line into compression fitting and fully seat copper line into male fitting.

Step 3: Finger tighten compression fitting onto copper line while centering copper line as straight as possible into seated male fitting before tightening one quarter turn with appropriate size wrench.

Step 4: Loosen and remove assembled copper line and compression fitting. The fitting is now married to the copper line. Repeat for other side.

Step 5: Install completed copper line assembly. Repeat tightening step:
  1. Tighten finger tight.
  2. Quarter to half turn with appropriate size wrench.
  3. Followed by small, incremental, turns to create a seal while on water/steam.
It is imperative to not over tighten compression fittings.
