Fading Display - Steam Series
SLAYER Steam Series machines feature OLED displays which illuminate the barista dashboard and present information regarding the status of your machine.
Known Issue:
Pixels begin to fade after years of use. OLEDs can not be repaired and must be replaced if display becomes unreadable.
Recent firmware updates have addressed this issue. Please contact SLAYER's Technical Support team at: support@slayerespresso.com to begin the firmware update process.
Parts:
30005-60110 OLED DISPLAY ASSEMBLY, SLAYER STEAM
Solution:
SLAYER introduced a 'Display Off' feature in current firmware versions for SLAYER Steam Series machines. This feature deactivates the display after an adjustable amount of time: 1 to 60 minutes. Machine will appear off while display is idle. However upon activating a volumetric, manual group actuation, or engaging with the encoder knob. The display will illuminate.
Display does not need to be ON to utilize full functionality of a group or programed volumetric.
Allowing the display to idle while the machine is ON will increase OLED pixel longevity.

Current firmware versions featuring Display Off:
Steam LP: 1.22
Steam EP: 1.10
Steam X: 1.07
SLAYER Steam Series machines not featuring
Display Off may be upgraded to current firmware versions.
