Flowmeter Not Reading Output - Steam Series

Slayer recommends that all service be performed by an experienced Slayer Espresso trained technician.

Known Issue:
Connector boot for the flowmeter may read voltage (indicated by yellow flowmeter light and multimeter test) however pulse count will not be relayed to the circuit board. This is critical for volumetric functionality. Verifying terminal boot connections are firmly connected to flowmeter spades has shown to resolve this issue.

This issue only affects Slayer Steam Series machines while in volumetric mode.

Symptoms:
  1. Programed volumetrics do not register weight (LP) or pulse count (EP).
  2. Recipes continuously dose until manually turned off.
  3. Slow volumetric extractions.
    1. Slow volumetric extractions may also be attributed to installation of incorrect flowmeter. Slayer Steam Series machines feature four (4) magnet impeller flowmeters.
  4. Difficulty programming volumetrics.
Steam LP
  1. WT not registering on display while in volumetric mode.
Steam EP
  1. Group timers on display continuously climb.
(Video shows WT not calculating while time continues to climb. Manual actuation is required to turn off volumetric recipe.)

Parts:
  1. 99005-21200 Flowmeter Assembly

Tools:
  1. #1 Philips
  2. Small Flathead Screw Driver
Time:
  1. 10 Minutes
Solution:
Verify flowmeter terminal connections are secure.

Step 1:
  1. Identify affected group's flowmeter.

Step 2:
  1. Using a #1 Philips screw driver. Remove electrical boot from flowmeter spades.

Step 3:
  1. Separate electrical boot by unscrewing housing and pressing terminal block through the boot.
  2. This will expose the three (3) flowmeter terminal connector wires.

Step 4:
  1. With a small flathead screw driver. Firmly press electrical boot connections together.

Step 5:
  1. Once all three (3) terminal connectors have been firmly pressed together.
  2. Reattach electrical boot to flowmeter spades.
  3. Verify functionality of volumetrics.
(Video shows WT calculating while time simultaneously climbs to total shot duration. Shot ends automatically once programed WT is reached.)
