Testing Heating Element Resistance, Single Group


Time Needed: 30 Minutes


Parts Needed:

30000-20140 Gasket, Element, Teflon
30004-20130 Element, Brew, 600 Watt, 110V, Single Group
or 30000-20130 Element, Brew, 600 Watt, 220V

Tools Needed: Screwdriver, Multimeter.





Step 1: Turn off power to machine.



Step 2: Remove front panel and right side panel,  following the article and video closely.



Step 3: Remove the lead that connects high limit switch to SSR.



Step 4: Set multimeter to Ohms Ω


Step 5: Place one lead on each side of the element.
For the purposes of this article I have removed the heat shrink. You can insert the leads through the end of the heat shrink to keep it intact.


Your multimeter should play a constant tone, indicating continuity, and should read 12 Ohms.
