Pump Adjustment - Universal
Setting & Adjusting Rotary Vane Pump - Commercial
Objective:
SLAYER two and three group commercial machines feature an external rotary vane pump. With an adjustable bypass screw, a technician can easily adjust the pump pressure of the brew circuit.
Click
HERE to adjust the pump setting on a SLAYER Espresso Single Group.
SLAYER recommends setting pump pressure to 10 bars with a blank portafilter!
Parts:
- 99015-58040 Pump Assembly, Steam LP & EP
- 99003-58040 Pump Assembly, Espresso V3
Time:
- 5 minutes
Tools:
- Blank Portafilter
- Flathead Screwdriver
Step 1:
First locate the pump and brew circuit pressure gauge to calibrate pump pressure.
- Steam Series:
- Brew circuit gauge is located on the high pressure (red zip tie) fitting on the pump assembly.
- Espresso V3:
- Brew circuit gauge is located to the left of each group head.
Step 2:
- Engage a blank portafilter into group 1.
- Actuate to the left, Full Brew, position.
- Steam LP - calibrate pump pressure while in Manual Mode.
- Steam EP - Press brew actuation button.
- Observe brew circuit pressure gauge.
- If gauge reads above or below 10 bars, adjust physical bypass screw:
- Counter-clockwise reduces pump pressure.
- Clockwise increases pump pressure.
Image above illustrates calibrating pump pressure on a SLAYER Steam. Reminder, Espresso V3 models do not have a gauge on the pump!
Step 3:
After each adjustment, verify pump pressure by actuating the group OFF and ON to relieve pressure within the brew circuit.
Always calibrate pump pressure with the group actuated to Full Brew!
