Display Configuration - Espresso Single (Classic)
Convert Espresso Single display to (Classic).

Objective:
SLAYER Espresso Single's manufactured prior to January 2020 operated off a firmware version and circuit board which are incompatible with the new LCD Espresso Single displays. In order for backwards compatibility, an experienced technician with soldering capabilities must convert Espresso Single LCD display to operate on (Classic) PCB.
Pre-January Espresso Single (Classic) PCB installed with appropriate firmware are available as a spare part. As with many other legacy components. Please visit the
SLAYER Legacy Parts Diagram guide for reference.
Keep in mind that part numbers, pricing, and availability are subject to change and legacy parts diagrams are primarily reference material.
Parts:
- 99004-60120 DISPLAY ASSEMBLY, HOME
- When ordering a display from SLAYER's Customer Service:
- Please specify the serial number and indicate display is meant for an Espresso Single (Classic)!
- SLAYER's in house support team will configure displays.
Tools:
- Soldering iron and solder.
Solder Display Board
Step 1:
- Identify points to be soldered:
- BL0N
Step 2:
- Apply bead of solder, connecting the two contacts on BL0N.
Step 3:
- Test soldered display board on an Espresso Single (Classic) PCB.
- Verify touch pad response and display illuminates.
Troubleshooting:
- If solder is not applied correctly, the following issues will be present:
- No illumination.
- Circle button briefly illuminates upon start up.
- Inactive display.
Similar issues will be present if attempting to connect a non-configured display to an Espresso Single (Classic).
