Slayer Uninstall & Recrating Guide 2023



Only qualified service personnel should uninstall Slayer espresso machines. For a list of certified Slayer technicians near you please contact our support department. Incorrect uninstallation may result in injury and/or damage to the equipment. For additional information and support please consult Slayer's User Manuals before proceeding.

  1. 8" Adjustable Wrench
  2. #2 Philips Screwdriver
  3. Small Flathead Screwdriver 
  4. Large Flathead Screwdriver
  5. Ratchet with 9/16" Socket 
  6. 9/16" Wrench
  7. The buddy system.

      1. 1G - 12
      2. 2/3G - 16
    3. 2-4 Machine mounting bolts.
    4. 4-8 Washers
    5. 3 Pump Bolts and Nuts
  2. Packaging:

      1. Machine specific contents.
    2. Cup Tray Foam
    3. Drip Tray Foam - Espresso Series
    4. 3 - Wand Foam Sleeves
    5. Rubber Bands
      1. 2 - Wands
      2. 2 - Steam Series Drip Tray
      3. Pump Harness
    6. Velcro
      1. Accessory Box
      2. Drip Tray - Espresso Series
    7. Plastic Abrasion Resistant Inserts
    8. Machine Bag (Large Plastic Bag)
Step 1: Clean Machine 
  1. Run a Full Clean Cycle on all groups. Follow backflush procedure for Espresso V3.
  2. Soak in espresso cleaner:
    1. Portafilter Body
    2. Portafilter Baskets & Spring Clips
    3. Dispersion Screens and Screws
    4. Steam Tips
  3. Rinse drip and cup tray covers and liners.
  4. Wipe down cosmetic panels, actuators, Steam Wings, and Espresso X legs.

Step 2: Drain Machine
  1. Follow machine specific drain procedures.
  2. Reset Factory Defaults.
  3. Main Power and High Voltage Breaker switches Off.
Step 3: Uninstall & Transfer Machine to Crate Base.
  1. Safely unplug from wall.
  2. Water OFF.
  3. Close drain valves.
  4. Disassemble water lines from pump. Cover lines and pump inlet/outlet pathways immediately.
  5. Transfer machine to crate base.
Buddy System! Two or three people are required to safely lift machine.
  1. Steam Series:
    1. Lift from image below.
  2. V3 & Single Group:
    1. Lift from image below.

Be careful not to pinch water lines, drain hoses, and power cords during transfer.
*PRO TIP* Lift machine and thread crate bolts into legs for easy hole alignment on crate base. Remove crate bolts once centered.




Step 4: Prepare Machine on Crate Base ( Reference Images Below)
  1. Tighten crate bolts and washers to machine legs. (Double check, then check again!)
Espresso Series:
       Two (2) crate bolts and four (4) washers. 
Steam Series:
      Four (4) crate bolts and eight (8) washers, two (2) washers per bolt.
  1. Clean and detail machine. Take note of any cosmetic blemishes. 
  2. Neatly wrap and zip tie water lines, drain hoses, and power cords together underneath machine.
  3. V3 & Single Group:
    1. Remove wood steam actuator handles and place in accessory box. 
  4. Single Group:
    1. Thoroughly wrap wood steam and hot water actuators and portafilters in foam. 
  5. Verify power switches are in OFF position.
Universal: 
  1. Attach foam and plastic abrasion resistant transit inserts.
  2. Slide foam sleeves over Steam & Hot Water wands.
  3. Rubber band Steam & Hot Water wands around group necks.
  4. Lay large foam piece over cup tray. There should be enough to cover rear panel.
  5. Place and Velcro (ensure soft side of Velcro is contacting machine) accessory box on cup tray.
  6. Slayer Single Group:
    1. Not supplied with an accessory box. Place braided steel hose, drain tube, and other accessories in plastic bag and secure to cup tray.
Steam Series: 
  1. Tape (low adhesive painters tape is recommended) plastic insert between wing contact point with side panel. This may be a snug fit.

  2. Rubber band drip tray.
V3 & Single Group:
  1. Slide plastic inserts between cup tray and inside side panels.
  2. Lay and tuck large foam piece over drip tray edges. Velcro, soft side down, in place.
  3. Single Group:
    1. Secure foam wrapped actuators and portafilters on drip tray.
V3 & Steam Series:
  1. Bolt pump to crate base. Three (3) bolts. (Double check, then check again!) Adjust collar to allow pump to fit underneath machine and rubber band power harness to motor.

Final Check:
  1. Bolts tight w/ washers.
  2. Data plate verified.
  3. Machine clean.
  4. Wands, drip, tray, cup tray , and accessory box foamed and banded.
  5. Velcro installed/orientated correctly.
Step 6: Crate
No tools are required to snap clip crate together.
  1. Buddy System!
  2. Cover entire machine with large plastic bag and tuck under machine.
  3. Attach side panels, first, one at a time and snap clip to crate base.
  4. Lay lid panel in place and snap clip to side panels.

Verify all snap clips are secure.
