Setting Pump and Regulator Assembly - Slayer Steam X

Setting Pump and Regulator Assembly - Slayer Steam X

Setting Pump & Regulator - Steam X

Objective:
Steam X was designed with a unique pump assembly that featured an in-line pressure regulator for the brew circuit. This guide will demonstrate how to calibrate this assembly.

Time:
15 minutes

Tools:
Adjustable wrench
Flathead screwdriver
Blank portafilter

Parts:
30000-58060 Pressure Regulator
30000-58030 Pump, 45 GPH

Procedure

Step 1:
Install the correct water fittings. The colored zip ties on each hose should match to the corresponding color on the pump. Install the inlet water feed line to the inbound (right) side of the pump.

Step 2:
Loosen the lock nuts on the regulator and the pump

Step 3:
Spin your regulator in a clockwise direction until it stops. Don't over-tighten.

Step 4:
Insert a blank portafilter to the group. While running the group, adjust the pump pressure to read 11 bar on the front of the pump gauge.
Once set, tighten the lock nut on the pump bypass.

Step 5:
Turn the group back on. Spin the regulator handle in a counter clockwise direction until the pump gauge reads 10 bar.
Once set, tighten the lock nut on the pressure regulator.

Step 5:
Brew a test shot. You may adjust your regulator as necessary to brew at your desired bar pressure.
