Objective:
Service and adjust tension on SLAYER Espresso V3 & Single Group mechanically actuated steam wands. (+ Single Group hot water spout!)
Tools:
Large Flathead Screw Driver
Parts:
- 12: 10003-36600 LOCK SCREW, SHOULDER BOLT
- 11: 46003-10001 WASHER, SPRING, M10, ACETAL
- 10: 46003-10002 WASHER, FLAT, 18-8 SS, Ø7/16"
- 9: 46000-53186 SHIM, SHOULDER BOLT, 0.010" THICK, Ø5/8" ID
- 7: 10000-16130 ACTUATOR RAMP
- 6: 46003-10003 O-RING, PTFE, DASH NUMBER 237
Step 1:
- With a large flathead screw driver, remove shoulder bolt lock screw and verify actuator stack is correct.
- Two acetal conical washers (Part #11) face each other (convex sides touching).
- Followed by flat washer (Part #10).
Step 2:
- If actuator drifts or has lateral play. Shims may be required.
- Insert 1 - 3 (max) shims to adjust tension. (Part #9)
Overtightening shoulder bolt lock screw does not affect tension or lateral play.
Troubleshooting:
Poor actuation symptoms:
- Actuator drifting towards the OFF position on its own.
- Lateral actuator movement.
- Actuator hub rubbing against X arm.
- Weak steam.
Mechanical resolution measures:
- Verify actuator stack (+shims) is in the correct orientation.
- Step 1 & 2.
- O-ring and actuator ramp are SLAYER lubed and in working order.
- Part #6 & #7.
- Service steam valve.
Legacy Information:
SLAYER Espresso V1 & V2 machines may be retrofit to the V3 steam actuator parts diagram. Contact SLAYER's Spare Parts team at
